Icelandic Model Book - Workshops for children

Two workshops were held in relation to the exhibition The Icelandic Model Book in November with the  collaboration of the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts. 

In the first workshop art teachers introduced the participants to the tools and techniques that illustrators of the Icelandic drawing book used. The participants of the second workshop reviewed the monsters and strange creatures of the old manuscripts and placed them in context with the present. 

Two other workshops will be held in January the eleventh and eighteenth. 
January 11th 8-12 years : Participants make a comic serie where they use characters, animals and objects that appear in the Icelandic drawing book. Teachers: Bjarni Hinriksson and Inga María Brynjarsdóttir.
January 18th  8-12 years : Participants develop their own monsters from the old monsters in the Icelandic Model book. Kennarar: Gudrun Vera Hjartardóttir and Kari Ósk Grétudóttir.
