Reflections and light beams

Experimental workshop

On Saturday the 13th February the visual artist Guðrún Benónýsdóttir will lead experimental workshop for the whole family where we will experiment with the reflection and beams of light.

Isaac Newton was a scientist who did experiments with light and according to his study white light will break into seven colors if it is directed through a prism form: purple, indigo blue, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.

In our own laboratory, we will direct beams of light through various prisms, glass objects and color filters. Rainbows will appear and we will continue playing with the light and shadows created on the walls.
The workshop is free and open to everyone. You do not need to register for attending the workshop but make sure to be on time as it starts at 13.00.

Every Saturday during the spring we will offer family activities in the cultural houses around Hamraborg. The events will be either in Gerðarsafn Art Museum, Kopavogur Library, The Natural History Museum or the Auditorium. All the events start at 13.00 and everyone is welcome to attend.
