Laboratory: Nature through design and geometry

On Saturday, 30 April at 1-2 p.m., Sinéad McCarron, MA student in Design, will lead a laboratory for the whole family in experimenting with shapes and patterns in nature.
Sinéad will show us new ways in exploring the relationship between geometry and nature through geometric shapes. We will see how different things, such as music and plants, are related through geometry and can play with geometry in the sandbox in the exhibition. We will experiment with creating our own three-dimensional structures and find new ways to explore our surroundings.

The laboratory is part of Family Sundays in the Culture Houses in Kopavogur. The houses offer a family program every Saturday this spring at 1 p.m., either in Gerðarsafn Kopavogur Art Museum, Kopavogur Library, the Natural History Museum, Salurinn Concert House or the District Archives. The events are art workshops, readings, concerts and other events for children and teenagers.
