Conservator and museologist Ingibjörg Áskelsdóttir will discuss conservation of artworks on Wednesday 30 March at 5 p.m. Ingibjörg will walk guests through the museum's art storage and discuss conservation and preservation of different types of artworks and objects.


Inginbjörg is conservation and research project manager at Reykjavík City Museum and is specialized in preventive conservation as well as conservation of paper and books. Ingibjörg worked at Gerðarsafn and took a large part in developing the museum's art storage. The art storage is very organized and conditions for artworks are very good so a trip through the storage is a great opportunity for those interested in conservation and the inner workings of museums.
