Museum Night

7-11:30 p.m. Gerdarsafn‘s Pop-up Kitchen is open during Museum Nigth. 

7-10 p.m. Gerdur‘s Studio – Creative Workshops Guðrún Benónýsdóttir, artist and art teacher leads open workshops for various ages in relation to the educational and experience exhibition Gerdur‘s Studio At Gerdur‘s Studio guests of all ages are invited to look behind the curtains and get to know the art practice of Icelandic artist Gerður Helgadóttir from the artists studio. 

The exhibition seeks to offer fun ways to learn, look and create by setting up hands-on projects for guests of all ages. The exhibition is therefore partly created by the museum guests and is created with the participation of families and school groups in mind. 

7 p.m. Mysterium - Projection Studio (Workshop for 16+) Artists Björk Viggósdóttir and Ragnheiður Harpa Leifsdóttir lead an experimental workshop for young people (16+). During the workshop the group will experiment with ligth settings, mirrorings, video projections and music. The group as a whole will set out to create a the final result of the work to be showcased for audience at 10 p.m. 

The workshop starts at 7 p.m. sharp. Limited seats available. Register at gerdarsafn@kopavogur.is

7-9:30 p.m. Guided tour through the collection storage at Gerðarsafn Guests are offered to take a look inside the Museum storage and get to know the Gerðarsafn collection. Each guided tour starts every 30 minutes from 8 p.m. with limited for 10 persons on each tour. The tour takes place in Icelandic.
